The congregation held “drive in” worship in September using golf carts and lawn chairs on our back lawn, which allowed us to include more people and added flexibility. Holy Communion resumed on Sept. 6th for the first time since mid-March. In October, if the weather is good we will gather outdoors. If it is too cold or raining we will return to the sanctuary. In either location, all participants are asked to wear masks and observe the social distancing guidelines in effect at the time.
All of St. Paul’s services are live-streamed using Facebook. These are no-frills videos to enable those at home to see what they would see if they were present.
Blessing of the Pets
St. Francis was known for his care for all of God’s creatures. On October 4th, St. Paul’s will offer the 11th Annual blessing of the Animals including our pets and the beloved creatures in God’s creation from perch and walleye to owls and monarchs. Everyone is welcome to come to St. Paul’s labyrinth to participate. All dogs and cats should be on a leash (or pet carrier) and other creatures can come in their appropriate fish bowl or other container.
St. Paul Moves 100 feet!
St. Paul, a carved tree trunk on the back lawn moved 100 feet when we saw the base of the tree was being consumed by wood beetles. The large crane to remove a tree leaning precariously over the Hartman House since the storm in June took a few minutes to relocate St. Paul. In addition to removing the tree, several other lawn projects took place in September, including new plantings around the Air Conditioner and grinding out over 20 stumps of various sizes throughout the property.
