The Chocolate Cafe and Museum is fun, educational, and extremely tasty attraction located just outside of downtown Put-in-Bay. With an extensive exhibition about the history of chocolate and a cafe full of treats and fresh coffee, the Chocolate Cafe and Museum is sure to satisfy even the sweetest tooth.
The museum features informative displays about how chocolate has been made through the ages. With antique memorabilia and helpful exhibitions, the museum is really fascinating.
Chocolate is one of America’s favorite flavors but it has been around much longer than that. Chocolate was first grown in Central and South America over 2000 years ago. The chocolate we eat today was said to be invented in London in 1657.

Once you learn about chocolate making, reward yourself with a visit to the cafe. With 32 flavors of Toft’s Ice Cream, pastries, and cakes, there is plenty to indulge in. This part of South Bass Island contain some of the most exciting and attractions on the island, despite being outside of the main drag. The Chocolate Cafe is located underneath Goat Soup and Whiskey, a popular fine dining establishment known for use fresh ingredients directly from their garden.
