Heineman Winery

The Heineman Winery on Put in Bay was founded in 1888 by Gustav Heineman, an immigrant from Baden-Baden, Germany. This area is well known for growing grapes. The Lake Erie Islands are located along the same latitude lines of the wine making regions in France. The long growing season and temperate environment were very suitable for grape growing. Over 100 years of wine making tradition can be experienced at this PIB must visit.
